John is once again in heaven’s setting, where he observes another sign. He sees seven angels carrying seven plagues: these are the last ones, because in them God’s wrath will be fulfilled. Chapter fifteen provides a brief introduction to the execution of these seven plagues, which will be explained in detail in the next chapter. This passage aims to strengthen the faith of the Christian community after the hardships they have endured and the calamity of the coming plagues.
