It repeats 13:1-4, but with the new detail that the firstborn of the donkey had to be rescued or, otherwise, it had to be dismembered. The Hebrews considered the donkey unclean; therefore, its firstborn could not be offered as a sacrifice, so it was necessary to replace it or dispose of it without spilling its blood (by breaking its neck).
