Isaiah 65:17-21
Chapter 65
17
New Creation
I now create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things will not be remembered or come to mind again.18
Be glad forever and rejoice in what I create; for I create Jerusalem to be a joy and its people to be a delight.
19
I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people. The sound of distress And the voice of weeping will not be heard anymore.
20
You will no longer know of dead children or of adults who do not live out a lifetime. One who reaches a hundred years will have died a mere youth, but one who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.
21
They will build and dwell in houses; they will plant crops and eat fruit.

Commentaries
New Creation.
The corruption and impurity caused by apostasy in nature are so deep that God, in his mercy, chooses to create a new heaven and a new earth to give his people and humanity a fresh start from the faithful remnant of Israel (cf. Rev 21:1-2). Hope and joy stand in contrast to the people’s history of infidelity and suffering.
