Peter then addressed them: “Truly, I realize that God does not show favoritism,35
rather, in every nation, he listens to everyone who fears God and does what is right.
36
And this is the message he sent to the children of Israel—the good news of peace he proclaimed through Jesus Christ, who is the Lord of all.

No doubt, you have heard about the event that happened throughout the entire country of the Jews, starting from Galilee, after the baptism that John preached.

You know how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power. He went around doing good and healing all who were under the devil’s power because God was with him;

At Cornelius’ House.
Peter begins by saying that “God shows no partiality, but accepts those who fear him and do what is right, whatever nation they belong to.” At last, he seems to have understood the vision he had in his prayer. His words repeat the testimony he had previously given among the Jews about the Lord Jesus. Only this time, the audience is different, for the listeners are pagans. “Peter had not finished speaking” (44), says the narrator, when the Holy Spirit is poured out on the listeners, much to the surprise of Peter and his entourage. For Luke, the Apostle’s words are “inspired” and bearers of the Spirit. A fundamental step was taken in the early history of the Church.
