1 John 5:14-21
Chapter 5
If we know that he hears us whenever we ask, then we know that we already have what we requested of him.
If you see your brother or sister committing a sin that does not lead to death, you will ask, and God will give life to such a one. I am referring specifically to the sin that does not lead to death. There is also a sin that leads to death; I am not speaking about praying for this.
Every kind of wrongdoing is sin, but not every sin leads to death.
We know that those born of God do not sin, but the one begotten by God he protects, and the evil one cannot touch them.
We know that we belong to God, while the whole world lies under the power of the evil one.
We know that the Son of God has come and has given us the power to understand the one who is true. We are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and everlasting life.
Children, be on your guard against idols.

Conclusion.
John’s letter highlights the core of Christian revelation. Through faith, which is the work of the Holy Spirit, we Christians experience the joy of knowing we are loved infinitely and tenderly. We recognize that all love comes from God the Father, who revealed himself through Jesus. We believe and understand that love is the beginning and the end of everything. Now, one remains in love only by “living as he lived” (2:6). Jesus is the model and source of our love. With the help of his Spirit, he empowers us to love our brothers and sisters as he loved us, through service and selfless love even unto death.
