Reaction of the Corinthians and Paul.

In a final, tender, and emotional plea, Paul shares with the Corinthians how much they mean to him and asks them to open their hearts to him as well. How can they, then, accept accusations that portray him as harming or destroying the community? If his defense has been too strong or sharp, the Apostle assures them his goal is not to accuse or condemn. He is confident that his defense will succeed and expresses this by looking forward to the joy and happiness that come with a reconciliation he longs for and is sure will happen.
