A conspiracy forms to eliminate Paul. The forty conspirators commit to fasting, believing they will resolve the matter quickly. Their main goal is to free Paul from Roman custody, so they conspire with members of the Council. A nephew of the Apostle learns of the plot, warns the commander, and the commander once again saves the prisoner by taking him under heavy military guard to Caesarea. For Paul, this trip marks his final departure from Jerusalem.
