It is believed that everything regarding the Sanctuary, the priests, and the sacrifices was already anticipated and concluded; however, as if it had been overlooked, here appears the command to construct an altar for offering incense exclusively in the morning and evening. The only time the altar was touched by anything other than incense smoke was on the Day of Atonement, when the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies to anoint the horns of the altar with the blood of the atoning sacrifice (10).
