Final Exhortations

Let mutual love continue.

2

Don’t neglect hospitality; remember that some have unknowingly entertained angels.

3

Imagine yourself in chains with prisoners and extend the same empathy to those who are suffering. Also remember that you have a body.

4

Marriage should be respected by all, and husbands and wives should stay faithful to one another. God will judge the immoral and the adulterous.

5

Don’t depend on money. Be content with what you need for today, because God has promised: I will never leave you or forsake you.

6

Then we can confidently declare: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?

7

Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Consider their end, and imitate their faith.

8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

9

Don’t be fooled by strange teachings. Your strength comes from grace, not from regulations about food, which do not benefit those who live by them.

10

We have an altar that those still serving in the temple cannot eat from.

11

After the high priest offers the blood in the sanctuary for the people’s sins, the carcasses of the animals are burned outside the camp.

12

For this reason, Jesus, to cleanse the people with his own blood, endured his Passion outside the gate.

13

Let us, therefore, go to him outside the camp, and bear the abuse he endured.

14

For we do not have a permanent city here, and we are eagerly awaiting the city that is to come.

15

Let us, then, continually offer through Jesus a sacrifice of praise to God, the fruit of lips that proclaim his name.

16

Do not overlook good deeds and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

17

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls and give an account. Make it a joy for them, not a burden, for that would be harmful to you.

18

Pray for us, as we believe our intentions are sincere and that we only aim to act with honor in everything.

19

Now, I urge you all the more to pray for me so that I may be returned to you sooner.

20

May the God of peace, he who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,

21

train you in every good work so that you may do his will, for it is he who works in us what pleases him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be all glory forever and ever. Amen!

22

Brothers and sisters, I beg you to accept these words of encouragement, for I have written to you briefly.

23

Know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon, I will visit you with him.

24

Greetings to all your leaders and to the saints. Greetings from those from Italy.

25

Grace be with all of you.
