I know the Egyptian king will not let you go unless he is forced.

The elders of Israel will listen to you, and you will go to the king of Egypt’s palace with them and say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now let us go on a three-day journey into the wilderness to sacrifice to the Lord, our God.’

and I plan to bring you out of all this oppression in Egypt and lead you to the land of the Canaanites, a land flowing with milk and honey.’

Go! Gather the elders of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, appeared to me and said: I have seen and taken note of how the Egyptians have treated you,

God then said to Moses: “You will tell the Israelites: ‘The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has sent me.’ That will be my name forever, and by this name, they will call upon me for all generations to come.

God said to Moses: “I AM WHO AM. This is what you will say to the sons of Israel: ‘I AM sent me to you.”

Moses answered God: “If I go to the Israelites and say to them: ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ they will ask me: ‘What is his name?’ What shall I answer them?”

God replied: “I will be with you, and this will be the sign I have sent you. When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”

Moses said to God: “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the people of Israel out of Egypt?”

Now go! I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.
