Since you are precious in my sight, and important —for I have loved you, I give people in exchange for you and nations in return for your life.

Fear not, for I am with you: I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.
Commentaries
Rescue of the People.
One of the most encouraging passages in the “Book of Consolation.” It invites readers to explore history from the time of the people’s founding and to return to the covenant; Israel is deeply connected to the Lord: “You are mine” (1). God loves his people so much that he is willing to pay any price to redeem them. Is there anything more precious than the blood of Christ? (Gal 2:20).
