This is another alphabetical psalm that elaborates on the blessings granted to those who remain faithful to God: descendants, prosperity, virtue, and salvation. It also addresses our reverence for God, demonstrated through actions—primarily by showing charity to our neighbors. Indeed, as the psalmist states in verse 4, ‘He is for the righteous, a light in darkness….’ Because in John 9:5, Jesus says, ‘I am the light of the world.’ Therefore, we should never be in darkness. His guiding light will always be present whenever we need it, especially during our most desperate moments and when we are groping through the darkness of the night. Our society also needs witnesses who fear God and are passionate lovers of his commandments. Men and women must reflect the rays of the Light because they are generous, compassionate, and attentive. Those who want to serve as witnesses of God today can pray with this psalm.
