101

This was the king’s prayer, who was responsible for his people’s moral and material well-being. Our Lord is the king of the Christian community: no sin was ever found in him, and he came to enable everyone to share in his innocence. United with him, we affirm our commitment to expand the kingdom of justice and love—starting in our own hearts. He showed us the way so that we all choose the path of integrity. Jesus came to serve and sought to be surrounded by servants (Mk 10:41-45), while he also proclaimed blessings for the poor and the persecuted (Mt 5:3, 10). This is a good psalm to help us face our responsibilities as a Church and as society.
